January 3, 2012: Columbia Evangelical Seminary Named one of the Top Ten! The on-line organization “TheBestSchools.org” published a list of “The Top 10 Graduate Programs in Christian Apologetics.” CES made is on that list. January 2012: CES Graduate Passes Away: Jack Hunka—a CES Doctor of Religion graduate 1992—passed away in December, 2011. Jack was an early student of CES, being the 17th student to enroll with CES. Dr. Phil Fernandes served as Jack’s mentor. Jack was also a B.A. graduate of Central Bible College (Springfield, MO., 1964) and he held an M.Div. from Western Evangelical Seminary (Portland, OR., 1967). Dr. Hunka was born in 1929, and lived in Canada with his wife (of 58 years) Lillian. Jack was an educational missionary to Ukraine where he established three seminaries, one in Chernivtsi, one in Ternopil, and one in Yalta. He also planted or helped plant more than a dozen churches. Please keep Jack’s widow, Lillian (80 years old), in your prayers.
